Choke manifold

Choke manifold is a necessary equipment to control well kick and oil and gas well pressure . When the BOP is closed, using the opening and closing of the choke valve to control a certain casing pressure to maintain that the bottom hole pressure which is always slightly higher than the formation pressure, so as to prevent the formation fluid from further flowing into the well. In addition, during shutting well operation, choke manifold can be used to relieve pressure to get soft shut in. When the pressure in the well rises to a certain limit, it is used to blow off to protect the wellhead.

The choke manifold is composed of choke valve, gate valve, flange pipe, pressure gauge, etc.

working principle:

When the pressure in the well rises, the fluid in the well can be released through the opening and closing of the choke valve (manual , hydraulic and fixed) on the choke manifold to control the casing pressure. When the casing pressure is too high, it can be directly blowout through the gate valve.
